Product Details

"Elizabeth Hall 1809 Weston School Sampler" is a reproduction cross stitch design by Birgit Tolman of The Wishing Thorn.  A gorgeous Quaker Sampler from the Westtown School in Pennsylvania. The School was founded in 1799 by the Religious Society of Friends, the Quakers. This makes Elizabeth's sampler one of the earlier pieces from the school.  Such elegance and simplicity. The layout of it is very pleasing to the eye as is the Roman-style alphabet that was favored by Quaker schools.

Birgit designed this for 28ct linen. Aida is not recommended because there are several alphabets stitched over one thread.  Stitched Area: 9-3/4 inches (25cm) wide by 11-3/4 inches (29.8cm) high.  Fabric Size: 16 inches (40cm) wide 18 inches (45cm) high this includes 3 inches (8cm) allowance on all sides for finishing or framing.
